It's hard to pick a poison, but Bourbon will always land somewhere on the top of the list. So you can imagine our excitement over the recent opening of Thirsty Crow, a whiskey/bourbon bar, just minutes from home base. With a lush aesthetic reminiscent of our favorite Cedd Moses downtown watering holes and a menu featuring a full page of old fashions and Manhattans, it would be tough for this place to disappoint- and it didn't. The bar was cozy; full but not crowded, wonderfully dark and surprisingly casual. And even before we finished (and thoroughly enjoyed) a few Marmalade Manhattans and Thirsty Crows, we discovered another reason to return: the bar features live jazz on Sundays from 1-4pm, while serving Bloody Mary's and mimosa's. They even recommend grabbing your brunch togo from Local (just next door), and bringing it back to complete the picture.
Not a drinking-in-the-afternoon type of person? You can come back later that evening from 9pm-Close for a weekly session of "Whiskey Education". For us, that means running the risk of staying all day.
