Ah, wonderful phenomena to feast your imaginations on this Wednesday afternoon. Apparently almost every night in Marfa, Texas, these "ghost lights" appear on the horizon in a specific distant location in the small town with a population of just over 2,000. Myths of these observations span all the way back to the mid 19th century, yet scientists still haven't been able to fully explain the origins of these mysterious lights. (Although the Society of Physics Students kind of debunked it, explaining it was merely automobile lights from US route 67.)Regardless, lots of skeptics and all out defenders of the lights find their own truths in the strange sightings. And that's all that matters I suppose. Check out tons more info about the lights here and here. We'd like to think that the lights are lost souls wandering about the Texas desert. As we used to say a while back..."this looks like a case for TIWWI."
For now, we'll leave you with two videos, one a mini-doc about the Marfa Lights, another of Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros visiting Marfa, Texas. While they don't see any lights, it's still a wonderful vid.
